MLPA
Multi-Lateral Peering Arrangements
MyIX has an open policy of interconnection between all MyIX members. Our goal is to help networks save money, reduce latency and improve routing efficiency and general connectivity of the Internet.
MLPE (Route Server)
Multi-Lateral Peering Exchange
MLPE enables networks to securely exchange routing information with multiple peers. It simplifies peering for open networks by using route servers that allow participants to share routing information with multiple peers. By default, MyIX Route Server advertises all prefixes to all peers.
MyIX participants can manage their prefix announcements to other members by tagging them with either standard BGP communities or Large BGP communities. More details here.
NMS
Network Monitoring System
Part of network management, our locally-produced NMS monitors the network for potential problems caused by overloaded or crashed servers, network connections or other devices. Users can also access information about utilization of member traffic. Information can be accessed through a login ID and password.
NOC
Network Operations Centre
Also known as a ‘Network Management Center’, NOC is a location from which network monitoring and control, or network management, is exercised over the telecommunication system. MyIX provides first-level support to customers 24/7. If you have a problem, contact us via email or phone.
LOOKING GLASS
Our Looking Glass servers offer access to routing infrastructure to help facilitate debugging network issues. Users can access it remotely and get real time information on backbone routing and network efficiency. Click here for remote access.
RPKI
Resource Public Key Infrastructure
Also known as Resource Certification, RPKI is a specialized public key infrastructure designed to secure the Internet’s routing infrastructure, in particular the Border Gateway Protocol. RPKI allows us to control the operation of Internet routing protocols to prevent route hijacking and other attacks. More here.
POP
Point of Presence
POP is a physical location where two or more networks share a connection. MyIX operates a distributed peering network across data centres in Malaysia.
